How do I prepare my device for the Daylight Saving Time change?
Starting in 2007, most of the United States begins Daylight Saving Time (DST) on the second Sunday in March and reverts to standard time on the first Sunday in November. This change could affect the current settings in your device.
To prepare your device for the Daylight Saving Time change, you will need to install an update for your device. Different updates are available for different devices, so be sure to check the manufacturer of your device before attempting to download an update. To do so, go to How do I determine the manufacturer of my phone?

The following Sprint devices need to be manually updated:
  • Samsung SPH-I300
  • Samsung SPH-I330
  • Samsung SPH-I500
BlackBerry Daylight Saving Time device patch
This patch applies to ALL Sprint BlackBerry devices.
To download the patch for BlackBerry devices, go to DST 2007 Patches for BlackBerry Devices.
ALERT:
New patches have been posted on the BlackBerry website for software versions prior to version 4.0.0, but those earlier than version 3.8.0 can only be installed via USB connection at this time. To view the list of supported software versions, go to Available Patches for Software Versions. Patches for versions not presently supported are targeted for release in the near future; revisit this Web page frequently for further details.

Palm Daylight Saving Time device patch
This patch applies to the following Sprint Treo Smart Devices: Treo 300, Treo 600, Treo 650, and Treo 700P.
To download the update directly to your Sprint Treo Smart Device, perform the following steps:
1. Ensure your PC is up to date. For more details, go to www.microsoft.com/dst2007.
NOTE:
Make sure you update all PCs that you may connect to your Sprint Treo Smart Device.
2. Enter the following link into the Treo browser. IMPORTANT: The link is case sensitive, enter the URL exactly as it appears: http://palmone.r3h.net/downloads.palm.com/DSTUpdater.prc.
3. Click the download link. From the File download dialog box, select Save To: Applications, and then select Save. When prompted to accept DSTUpdater.prc into Applications, select Yes.
4. When the download is complete, go to Applications.
5. Tap the application DSTUpdater or DSTUpda....
6. Tap OK. Your Sprint Treo Smart Device is now updated with the new DST rules.

Windows Mobile Daylight Saving Time device patch
This patch applies to the following Windows Mobile devices: PPC-6600, PPC-6601, PPC-6700, Palm Treo 700wx, Samsung IP-830w, and Samsung i600.
ALERT:
Please be sure to follow all steps below completely and in order. Be sure to complete ALL steps.
Select one of the following sets of instructions, depending upon whether you synchronize your device to a PC:
Windows Mobile users who connect to a PC to synchronize
To update your Windows Mobile device, perform the following steps:
1. Ensure your PC is up to date. For more details, go to www.microsoft.com/dst2007.
NOTE:
Make sure you update all PCs that you may connect to your Windows Mobile device.
2. Ensure you have ActiveSync 4.5, which is the latest version.
3. Connect your Windows Mobile device to your PC. Download and run Daylight Saving Time 2007 Update Tool for Windows Mobile.
Windows Mobile users who do not connect to a PC
If you do not connect your Windows Mobile device to a PC, there is an update, or CAB, file available to make this update. If you use Microsoft Exchange, contact your system administrator to make sure the Microsoft Exchange Server has been updated.
NOTE:
There are a number of ways to install a CAB file. These instructions are for one popular method. If you are unable to access the link from your Windows Mobile device, refer to the next set of instructions.
To install the update CAB file, perform the following steps:
1. Using the Microsoft Internet Explorer Browser on your device, go to http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/.
2. Download the Daylight Saving Time 2007 Update to your device.
3. To install the update, navigate to the downloaded file and click it.
NOTE:
When the update is installed, your device automatically restarts to complete the update.
If you are unable to access http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/ on your device, perform the following steps:
1. On a PC, using Microsoft Internet Explorer, go to Daylight Saving Time 2007 Download. Click the download link and save the file to a location you can easily access, such as the Desktop.
2. Attach the downloaded file to an email message. Send the message to an email account that you can access using your Windows Mobile device.
3. On your device, open the email message and save the attached file. You may need to synchronize your email a second time to download the attached file.
4. On your device, navigate to the saved file, and click to install the update.
NOTE:
When the update is installed, your device automatically restarts to complete the update.
Motorola MOTO Q Daylight Saving Time device patch
This patch applies to the Motorola MOTO Q.
To install the Daylight Savings Time update only, go to Daylight Saving Time 2007 Update.
Additional information: The Daylight Saving Time update is built into the new software version MP_BSP_C_02.07.61-49P_HW_P21, which was released to Sprint Retail and Service & Repair on March 6th. The update is available by visiting a Sprint Retail store or Service & Repair facility. The software release will also be posted to the Motorola Support website by March 14th.
