Steps to conserve battery life on your BlackBerry Curve 8330

Turn down the screen brightness and timeout
  1. From the home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Scroll to Options, and press the trackball.
  3. Scroll to Screen/Keyboard, and press the trackball.
  4. Scroll to Backlight Brightness, and press the trackball.
  5. Scroll to the lowest preferred brightness setting, and press the trackball.
  6. Scroll to Backlight Timeout, and press the trackball.
  7. Scroll to the lowest preferred timeout setting, and press the trackball.
  8. Press the Menu key.
  9. With Save highlighted, press the trackball.
Turn off Bluetooth when not in use
  1. From the home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Scroll to Manage Connections, and press the trackball.
  3. Scroll to Bluetooth, and press the trackball to uncheck.
Turn off GPS when not in use
  1. From the home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Scroll to Options, and press the trackball.
  3. Scroll to Advanced Options, and press the trackball.
  4. Scroll to GPS, and press the trackball.
  5. Review the message, and press the trackball.
  6. Scroll to GPS Services, and press the trackball.
  7. Scroll to Location Off, and press the trackball.
  8. Press the Menu key.
  9. With Save highlighted, press the trackball.
Close applications that are not in use
  1. From the home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Press the Menu key again.
  3. Scroll to Switch Application, and press the trackball.
  4. Scroll to the preferred application, and press the trackball.
    • Four applications always display even when closed: Browser, Call Log, Home Screen, and Messages.
  5. Press the Menu key.
  6. Scroll to Close, and press the trackball.
  7. Your BlackBerry® Curve™ 8330 is now set up to conserve battery life.
