Answers to some of your questions about GPS and Wi-Fi Calling
Does GPS need to be turned on to use Wi-Fi calling?
Wi-Fi calling requires GPS to be turned on on your Samsung Galaxy Mega ™. The Wi-Fi calling Locate Me option uses GPS and Google Mapping to determine your location if a 9-1-1 call is made over Wi-Fi.
Follow these steps to Enable GPS. When enabling GPS, make sure Use GPS Satellites is checked.
Do I need to enter the location information each time I connect to a Wi-Fi network?
Wi-Fi calling must be enabled for each new Wi-Fi network. Once Wi-Fi calling is enabled for the network, the registered location information is stored on your Samsung Galaxy Mega along with the network name. The phone will automatically switch to Wi-Fi Calling mode when returning to the saved network if Wi-Fi Calling mode is enabled.
Follow these steps to Add or Remove a Network for Wi-Fi Calling.
When do I need to update my location information?
Location information is stored on your Samsung Galaxy Mega along with the network name. If you connect to a new network with the same name (for example, a chain restaurant or coffee shop), the address information must be updated manually.
If your address is not accepted, make sure the address is correct. If the address is still invalid, the Wi-Fi Calling service may not be available at that location.
