Check the version on your phone
To find the software version on your Motorola PHOTON™ 4G:
-
On the Home screen, press Menu
-
Tap Settings
-
Scroll up and tap About phone
-
Scroll up and the software version is displayed under Build number
-
Press Home to return to the Home screen
Update your software
To update your Photon 4G over the air:
-
On the Home screen, press Menu
-
Tap Settings
-
Scroll up and tap About phone
-
Tap System Updates > Update Motorola Software
-
Your phone will check for available updates
-
If there is an update available, you will be prompted to download and install
it; just follow the on-screen instructions. Note: Your phone may power
off and back on to complete the software update, and you may be unable to make
or receive calls during the update.

If no updates are available, you will see a message stating your phone is up
to date; tap OK
-
Press Home to return to the Home screen
