Find and update the software version on your Samsung Instinct HD

Just like your computer, your phone's software needs to be updated periodically to make sure you have all the latest fixes and enhancements to keep it running at optimal performance. Follow the steps below to check your current version and perform any needed updates.

Check the current version on your phone
To check the version on your Samsung Instinct HD:
- From the Home screen, touch the Main tab, located at the bottom of the screen
- Touch Settings > General > Phone Information
- Software Version will be listed on the second line of text under Version, in the format SW:XX.XXXX XXXX. For example, if the phone is loaded with software version BE09, the second line of text will read: SW:ES.M850 BE09
Update your software
Follow the instructions below to get the latest software downloads for your phone:
- From the Home screen, touch the Main tab, located at the bottom of the screen
- Touch Settings > General > Update Software. The following message appears: Checking for software update. Please wait.
- You will be prompted to install the update after it has been downloaded to your device
