If you do not use the instant messaging application Google Talk (named Talk in Android 2.1) on your Samsung Moment™, you can disable it and improve your battery life, as it is always turned on by default.

To disable your Google instant messaging application:

If you have Android 2.1:

1. From the Home screen, slide open the Menu Tree
2. Select Talk
3. Then choose Menu > More > Settings
4. Uncheck all available options
5. Press the Back key once
6. Navigate to the Google Talk friends list screen and select Menu
7. Select More
8. Select Sign Out

If you have Android 1.5:

1. From the Home screen, slide open the Menu Tree
2. Select Google Talk
3. Then choose Menu > More > Settings
4. Uncheck all available options
5. Press the Back key once
6. Navigate to the Google Talk friends list screen and select Menu
7. Select More
8. Select Sign Out

If you're not sure which version of Android you have, to check it:

1. From the Home screen, press Menu
2. Tap Settings > About Phone > Software Information
3. The Android version will be listed under Firmware version
