If you use Microsoft Outlook (Workgroup installation) with an email account on a Microsoft Exchange Server version 5.5 or later and you don't have access to a BlackBerry Enterprise Server, your system administrator might let you install the BlackBerry Desktop Redirector on your computer to integrate your BlackBerry smartphone with your supported email account.
To integrate your BlackBerry device with a supported email account using the BlackBerry Desktop Redirector, select BlackBerry Desktop Redirector as your message redirection option when you install the BlackBerry Desktop Software.
Your computer must be on and the BlackBerry Desktop Redirector must be running to send and receive messages on your BlackBerry device. BlackBerry Desktop Redirector only provides one-way delivery of email to the BlackBerry device and does not support wireless synchronization of PIM (i.e., calendar, address book, memo pad or tasks). Tethered synchronization is required.
