Updating your data profile will correct this. You can update it yourself by completing the steps below, or you can request help from a Sprint representative via a chat session.

To update your data profile, perform the following steps:

  1. To access the main menu, press the Menu/OK key
  2. Select Settings, then press the Menu/OK key
  3. Select More, then press the Menu/OK key
  4. Select Data, then press the Menu/OK key
  5. Select Update Data Profile, then press the Menu/OK key

NOTE: The message The Network is preparing your services. Please wait. Press End to cancel appears. Wait for the update to complete. Once the programming is complete, you may need to turn your phone off and back on again to clear any errors.

Error: 403 — Forbidden

This error indicates that you do not have permission to access the file requested. There are two reasons why you might receive this error:

  • The file you are requesting may have been restricted or password protected by the site system administrator or the content owner (for example, a MySpace user).
  • The file you are requesting may no longer exist. It may have been deleted by the site system administrator or another user.

If you believe the file should not be restricted, contact the site system administrator or the content owner.

Error: 404 - The requested file was not found

This error indicates that a file was not found at the Web page you are viewing. There are several reasons for this error:

  • The Web page or content is no longer available.
  • An incorrect address was entered into the address bar.
  • The page or file name was changed by the system administrator but the search engine (for example, Yahoo or Google) has not updated its database. Therefore, the search engine points you to the old page or file name.

NOTE: If a Web page has been deleted, you would receive a 410 error instead of a 404 error.

  • This is sometimes used as a catch all by some Web administrators who do not want to reveal the reason why the Web request was refused.

If you receive this error, you can try the following:

  • Verify the correct Web address is entered into the address bar.
  • Contact the site system administrator, the Webmaster, to verify if the Web address has changed or been deleted.
  • Update your data profile.

To update your data profile, perform the following steps:

  1. Access the main menu by pressing the Menu/OK key.
  2. Select Settings, then press the Menu/OK key.
  3. Select More, then press the Menu/OK key.
  4. Select Data, then press the Menu/OK key.
  5. Select Update Data Profile, then press the Menu/OK key.

NOTE: The message The Network is preparing your services. Please wait. Press End to cancel. appears. Wait for the update to complete. Once the programming is complete, you may need to turn your phone off and back on again to clear any errors.

Error: 503 — Out of Resources

This error indicates that the Web server you are trying to access is either under maintenance or temporarily overloaded.

For example, while attempting to access http://movies.yahoo.com/, you receive a 503 error — Out of Resources message. The server cannot process the request due to a system overload. This is usually a temporary condition on your device.

If you receive this error, you can try the following:

  • Wait for 10-30 minutes and try to access the Web page again.
  • Contact the site system administrator, the Webmaster, to verify if the site is undergoing maintenance.

Error: 504 — Gateway Timeout

This error indicates that the website you tried to access did not receive a timely response from the host server. There are several reasons for this error:

  • One or more of the servers is not functioning properly.
  • The various servers are not agreeing on the same language in which to exchange data.
  • The request to access the site is not received within the allotted timeframe; therefore, your connection times out. This is due to slow IP communications between computers.

To resolve this error you will need to contact the site system administrator.

Error: 206 — Partial Content

This error indicates that a download was cancelled before it was completed.

For example, you receive a 206 error message on your device when you interrupt or cancel a music download from www.rapsody.com before it is completed.

If you canceled the download, no corrective action is necessary. However, if you receive this error without having canceled it, contact the site system administrator for assistance.
