Program Your HTC Touch PRO

Last Updated: Nov 18, 2013

You can use these programming instructions if you have a new phone or a used phone activated by a previous owner, and you have completed the Activate your new phone process in My Sprint. If so, you should refer to the page you printed showing the codes you need for these instructions to work.

Automatically program your phone

To program your phone:

  1. If the phone is off, press and hold the Power key to turn the phone on. The Power key is located on the top of the phone.
NOTE: If this is the first time you are powering up the device, digitize the screen by following the onscreen instructions.
  2. On the stylus and password screens, tap Skip, and then tap the screen when prompted to complete setup.
  3. Wait for the device customization to complete. The phone will automatically turn off and back on again.
  4. When the Start/Today screen appears, the phone will automatically contact the network and try to provision the handset.
  5. When the device provision completes, the Home screen appears and the phone will automatically turn off and back on again. The phone is now ready for voice and data use. To confirm the activation, make a phone call.
NOTE: If you received Error 1012, continue with Step 7.
  6. If you received the error message, Your activation could not be completed, tap OK to exit the screen.
  7. Tap the Start button to display the menu options.
  8. Tap Settings.
  9. Tap the System tab.
  10. Tap Update Profile.
NOTE: If you see the message Data Cannot Connect, tap Dismiss.
  11. You will see the following message: The network is preparing your service…Please wait. Wait for the process to complete.
NOTE: If the screen goes into sleep mode, you may tap the screen to wake up the device. Do not hold down the End key, as it will interrupt the process.
  12. Once completed, the device will return to the Settings tab. Tap the X button to return to the Today screen.
  13. The phone is now ready for voice and data use. To confirm the activation, make a phone call.

Manually program your phone

To program your phone:

  1. Find the Mobile Equipment Identification Number (MEID) on your phone. You can locate it in three places:
    • Turn off the phone and remove the battery. The Mobile Equipment Identification Number (MEID) can be found in the phone underneath the battery.
    • The barcode sticker on the end of the original box: Labeled DEC or HEX.
    • From the Dial Pad screen, press Menu, then select Device Information.
  2. Write down the MEID number, and then press OK to return to the Dial Pad.
  3. If the phone is off, press and hold the Power key to turn the phone on. The Power button is located on the top of the phone.
NOTE: If you are not at the Dial Pad, press the Phone key one time to display it.
  4. If you have a new phone that has never been activated:
    • On the Dial Pad, press ##, enter the one time 6-digit code from the Programming Information section on the Activate your new phone page, and then press # again. (The last # will not show on the screen, for example ##123456#.)
  5. If you have a used phone that has previously been activated:
    • On the Dial Pad, press ##, enter the secondary 6-digit code from the Programming Information section on the Activate your new phone page, and then press # again. (The last # will not show on the screen, for example ##123456#.)
  6. Tap the Edit button.
  7. Tap the MDN in the field text box, tap Menu, and then tap Edit.
  8. In the Phone Number (MDN) text box, using the keyboard, enter your 10-digit phone (MDN) number located in the Programming Instructions section on the Activate your new phone page.
    • NOTE: To enter numbers, press ABC once to switch to the number pad.
  9. Tap OK.
  10. Tap the MSID in the field text box, tap Menu, and then tap Edit.
  11. In the Phone Number (MSID) text box, using the keyboard, enter your 10-digit phone MSID number from the Programming Instructions section on the Activate your new phone page.
  12. Tap OK.
  13. Tap Menu, and then tap OK.
  14. Tap Yes to update the items.
  15. Tap OK in the EPST dialog box. The device will automatically turn off and then back on again.
