Note: The necessary software and drivers are automatically installed when you insert the USB modem into the computer. Provided that the data plan subscription and ESN have been established in the Sprint billing system, you can simply install the software and click Yes when prompted to activate.
Installing the USB modem
To install and run the Sprint Mobile Broadband USB modem and accompanying software, your system requires Mac OS X version 10.4.11 or higher. To check the Mac OS version number, click the Apple in the upper-right corner of the desktop and select About This Mac.
To install the USB modem, perform the following steps:
Note: Installation and activation may require you to be logged in with administrative privileges.
Note: If Admin protection is enabled on the Mac, you will be prompted to input your Admin password. After the installation is complete, a Sprint SmartView icon will appear on the desktop and you will be prompted to restart.
Activating the USB modem
To activate the USB modem, perform the following steps:
Note: If hands-free activation is available, Sprint SmartView will report that hands-free activation has started. Simply wait until completion and then connect to the internet. Otherwise, the One Touch Activation dialog box will appear.
