Program your BlackBerry 7250 smartphone

Last Updated: Nov 18, 2013

You can use these programming instructions if you have a new phone or a used phone activated by a previous owner, and you have completed the Activate your new phone process in My Sprint. If so, you should refer to the page you printed showing the codes you need for these instructions to work.

To program your phone:

  1. Turn on the power by pressing the Power button that is located at the lower right hand corner of the device (light bulb icon). It will take approximately three minutes for the device to power up.
  2. After powering on, your phone might display please confirm the current date and time. Do not set a new date/time. Accept the current settings by using the trackwheel to scroll to OK and then click the trackwheel to select OK.
  3. Go to the option Turn Wireless On, which is the antenna icon at the lower left corner of the screen display. Click the trackwheel. The icon will change to an antenna emitting radio waves.
  4. Check the various visual indicators (battery, 1x and signal indicators) that are underneath the date and time icon. Since the device is not provisioned for phone calls yet, you will see Activation Required in the blue bar just underneath the visual indicators. Additionally, you will see a 1x (small x) visual indicator because you are not receiving email.
  5. Navigate to the phone application entry screen. This is identified as a telephone button or icon on the screen. Select or highlight this option. Click the trackwheel. This will pull up the phone application entry screen.
  6. If you have a new phone (a phone that has never been activated) follow the instructions below:
    • Press ## followed by the one-time 6-digit code located in the Programming Instructions section on the Activate your new phone page, followed by an additional #. (For example, ##123456#. The last # entered will not show on the display.)
  7. If you have a previously activated phone (a phone that is new to you, but not brand new) follow the instructions below:
    • Press ## followed by the secondary 6-digit code located in the Programming Instructions section on the Activate your new phone page, followed by an additional #. (For example, ##123456#. The last # entered will not show on the display.)
  8. Erase the default entry of the Mobile Directory Number and replace with the 10-digit MDN of the phone number.
    • To do this, use the trackwheel to scroll down to the BlackBerry Registration ID field.
    • Scroll back up to the end of the Mobile Directory Number field.
    • Use the Delete key to erase the default numbers.
    • Enter the 10-digit MDN instead.
  9. Scroll down to the IMSI_S field and replace the default entry with the 10-digit MSID number on the account.
  10. Click the trackwheel to save the new entries. When the menu appears, click Save.
  11. The phone will display a Write Successful message. Your phone will restart and programming will be complete.
  12. Your phone will take approximately two to three minutes to restart and an additional two to three minutes to power up.
    • When your phone restarts, a Verifying Security Software progress screen will appear and your phone will be active.
    • The blue bar that reads Activation Required will disappear.
    • The small 1x visual indicator will change to a large 1X.
  13. You will now need to set up your voicemail on your phone. From the main screen, select the Phone icon and click the trackwheel or press Enter.
  14. Click your trackwheel once and then select Call Voicemail. A menu screen will prompt you to enter the voicemail number. Enter the 10-digit MDN phone number.

NOTE: It can take up to four hours to complete the activation process and for your phone to begin working. If the provisioning process does not complete within five hours, contact us.
