Last Updated: Nov 18, 2013

You can use these programming instructions if you have a new phone or a used phone activated by a previous owner, and you have completed the Activate your new phone process in My Sprint. If so, you should refer to the page you printed showing the codes you need for these instructions to work.

Follow the steps below to program your phone:

  1. If necessary, press and hold the red End key to turn on the phone; press the Menu/OK key.
  2. Go to Settings, select More > Data > Update Profile. The message The network is preparing your services. Please wait appears.
  3. When Device Configuration has completed appears, press the left softkey to select OK
  4. Press and hold the End key to turn the phone off.
  5. Turn the phone back on again. The phone is ready to make Voice, Data and Direct Connect® calls. (If the phone is still not working, continue with the next step.)
    • If you have a new phone that has never been activated, press ## followed by the one-time 6-digit code located in the Programming Instructions section on the Activate your new phone page, followed by an additional #. Example: ##123456#. (The last # entered will not show on the display.)
    • If you have a previously activated phone, press ## followed by the secondary 6-digit code located in the Programming Instructions section on the Activate your new phone page, followed by an additional #. Example: ##123456#. (The last # entered will not show on the display.)
  6. From the Service Program screen, scroll to Edit and select OK.
  7. Enter your 10-digit phone number from the Programming Information section of the Activate your new phone page.
    • Note: Entering new numbers will clear out any numbers currently displayed.
  8. Select OK.
  9. On the MSID screen, enter the 10-digit MSID number from the Programming Information section of the Activate your new phone page.
  10. Select OK. The Service Program screen appears.
  11. Scroll to Done; select OK. The phone will automatically turn off and then turn back on again.

Note: It can take up to 4 hours to complete the activation process and for your phone to work. Contact us if the provisioning process does not complete within 5 hours.
