Program your Kyocera Brio

Hands-Free Programming

  1. Turn your phone On.
  2. You will see the message Hands Free Activation, Contacting network.
  3. When activation is complete, you will see the message Your device has been activated! Press OK.
  4. Checking for PRL Update… will appear
  5. At the The PRL has been upgraded. Press [OK] to continue screen, press the softkey underneath OK.
  6. You will see the Checking for Firmware update… message. When you see No firmware update available, choose the soft key under OK.
  7. Your phone will turn off and turn back on.
  8. The phone is now ready to use.

Note: If hands-free programming is not successful, your phone will show a waiting for retry... message, and it will try to activate a total of 5 times. If you see this message, you can press the Manual button at any time to move forward in the programming process.

One-Touch Programming

If your Kyocera Brio™ did not activate successfully when you turned it on for the first time, complete the following steps:

If Hands-Free Activation is not successful, the customer will see a try again later message. Have the customer perform the following steps on the phone:

  1. Turn your phone On.
  2. Press the Menu/OK button to open the Main Menu.
  3. Use the navigation keys (up, down, left, right) to highlight the Settings option.
  4. Press the Menu/OK button.
  5. At SETTINGS screen, scroll down to 0) Others and press OK.
  6. At OTHERS screen, scroll down to 5) Data Settings and press OK.
  7. At DATA SETTINGS screen, scroll down to 3) Update Data Profile and press OK.
  8. The network is preparing your services. Please wait… will appear.
  9. At Device Configuration has completed, press OK using the left soft-key.
  10. When complete, the Home screen will appear. Phone will restart on its own.
  11. Go to step 2 of First-Time Activation programming instructions.

Manual Programming Steps

You can use these programming instructions if the above steps were unsuccessful, and you have completed the Activate your new phone process in My Sprint. If so, you should refer to the page you printed showing the codes you need for these instructions to work.

To program your phone:

  1. Turn the phone On
  2. On your phone keypad, press ## followed by the one-time 6-digit code, followed by an additional #. Example: ##123456# (The last # entered will not show on the display).
  3. The Service Programming screen will be displayed, highlighted on View.
  4. Scroll to Edit, and press Menu/OK.
  5. Enter the 10-digit MDN, and press Menu/OK.
  6. Enter the 10-digit MSID, and press Menu/OK.
  7. From the Service Program screen, scroll to Done, and press Menu/OK. The phone will automatically turn off and back on again.
  8. To confirm the activation, make a phone call, and confirm that data services are working by launching the Web browser after one hour.

Note: It can take up to 4 hours to complete the activation process and for your phone to begin working. If the provisioning process does not complete within 5 hours, contact us.
