Steps to activate your Kyocera DuraCore

If this is the first time activating your device, hands free activation automatically starts when you power it on for the first time.

Note: If hands free activation fails, continue to the next guide.

• Hands free activation

  1. With your device powered off, press and hold the Power/End key until the screen turns on.
  2. Press OK.
  3. Your device automatically installs available PRL updates.
  4. Press OK.
  5. Your device automatically checks for available firmware updates.
  6. Tap Apply if an update is available. Otherwise tap OK.
  7. Your device restarts.
  8. After it restarts, your device is ready to be used.
  9. You've now completed hands free activation.

If this is not the first time activating your device, or hands free activation did not complete successfully, use one touch programming.

Note: If one touch programming fails, continue to the next guide.

• One touch programming

  1. From the home screen, press the OK/Menu key.
  2. Scroll to Settings and press the OK/Menu key.
  3. Scroll to Others and press the OK/Menu key.
  4. Scroll to Data Settings and press the OK/Menu key.
  5. With Update Data Profile highlighted, press the OK/Menu key.
  6. Press OK.
  7. Press the Power/End key.
  8. You've now completed one touch programming.

Only use manual programming if both hands free activation and one touch programming did not complete successfully on your Kyocera DuraCore.

Manually programming your device requires a 6-digit programming code and a 10-digit MSID. If your device was activated via www.sprint.com/activate, these codes may be found in the phone activation confirmation email or on the programming instructions page displayed after the activation was processed.

If this is a new line of service or you don't have these codes, contact Sprint Customer Care or a Sprint store for assistance getting your device programmed.

• Manual programming

  1. From the home screen, dial ## followed by the 6-digit programming code followed by #. For example, ##123456#.
  2. Scroll to Edit and press the OK/Menu key.
  3. Enter the 10-digit phone number (MDN).
  4. Press OK.
  5. Enter the 10-digit MSID.
  6. Press OK.
  7. Scroll to Done and press the OK/Menu key.
  8. Your device restarts.
  9. After it restarts, from the home screen, press the OK/Menu key.
  10. Scroll to Settings and press the OK/Menu key.
  11. Scroll to Others and press the OK/Menu key.
  12. Scroll to Data Settings and press the OK/Menu key.
  13. With Update Data Profile highlighted, press the OK/Menu key.
  14. Press OK.
  15. You've now completed manual programming.

Only reset your device if it was previously active using a different phone number (MDN).

Resetting your device requires a 6-digit programming code. If your device was activated via www.sprint.com/activate, this code may be found in the phone activation confirmation email or on the programming instructions page displayed after the activation was processed.

If this is a new line of service or you don't have this code, contact Sprint Customer Care or a Sprint store for assistance getting your device programmed.

• Device reset

  1. From the home screen, dial ##72786#.
  2. Enter the 6-digit programming code.
  3. Press YES.
  4. Your device restarts.
  5. After it restarts, your device is ready to be used.
  6. You've now reset your device.
