Program your M520 by Samsung

Last Updated: Nov 18, 2013

You can use these programming instructions if you have a new phone or a used phone activated by a previous owner, and you have completed the Activate your new phone process in My Sprint. If so, you should refer to the page you printed showing the codes you need for these instructions to work.

To program your phone:

  1. Locate the Mobile Equipment Identification Number (MEID) for your phone:
    • Turn off the phone and remove the battery. The MEID can be found in the phone underneath the battery.
    • The MEID is printed on the barcode sticker on the end of the original box, labeled MEID-DEC or MEID-HEX.
  2. Press and hold the END key to turn on the phone.
  3. Verify that the screen shows Date and Time.
  4. Your phone will power on and perform a hands-free activation. If successful, the Activation Completed notice will be displayed. Hands-free activation was successful and no manual programming is required. The device is ready for voice and data use.
  5. Press the OK key. If the Activation Failed notice is displayed, go to Step 8.
  6. If you have a new phone that is new to you but not brand new, follow the instructions below:
    • Press ## followed by the one-time 6-digit code, located in the Programming Instructions section on the Activate your new phone page, on the QWERTY keyboard, followed by an additional #. (Example 6-digit code: ##123456#. The last # entered will not show on the display.)
  7. If you have a previously activated phone, a phone that is new to you but not brand new, follow the instructions below:
    • Press ## followed by the secondary 6-digit code, located in the Programming Instructions section on the Activate your new phone page, on the QWERTY keyboard, followed by an additional #. (Example 6-digit code: ##123456#. The last # entered will not show on the display.) Note: The Service Program screen will be displayed, with View selected.
  8. Scroll down to Edit and press the OK key. The Enter MDN screen will be displayed.
  9. Enter the 10-digit MDN and press the OK key. The Enter MSID screen will be displayed.

NOTE: Entering the numbers will clear out any numbers that are currently in the phone.

  10. Enter the 10-digit MSID and press the OK key. You will be returned to the original Service Program screen.
  11. Scroll down to Done and press the OK key. The phone will power cycle and programming is complete.

NOTE: It can take up to four hours to complete the activation process and for your phone to begin working. If the provisioning process does not complete within five hours, contact us.
