Activate your phone

Steps to activate your Motorola Admiral

If this is the first time activating your device, hands free activation automatically starts when you power it on for the first time.

After hands free activation completes, continue to the initial sign in and first use.

Note: If hands free activation fails, continue to the next guide.

  • Hands free activation

    1. With your device powered off, press and hold the Power key until the screen turns on.
    2. Your device automatically enters hands free activation mode.
    3. Tap OK.
    4. Your device automatically installs available PRL updates.
    5. Tap OK.
    6. Your device restarts.
    7. After it restarts, your device automatically checks for available firmware updates.
    8. If an update is available, follow the prompts to download and install.
    9. You've now completed hands free activation.

If this is not the first time activating your device, or hands free activation did not complete successfully, use one touch programming.

Note: If one touch programming fails, continue to the next guide.

  • One touch programming

    1. From the home screen, tap the Menu key.
    2. Tap Settings.
    3. Scroll to and tap About phone.
    4. Scroll to and tap System updates.
    5. Tap Update Profile.
    6. After the update is complete, tap OK.
    7. Your device returns to the System updates screen.
    8. Tap the Home key.
    9. You've now completed one touch programming.

Only use manual programming if both hands free activation and one touch programming did not complete successfully on your Motorola Admiral™.

Manually programming your device requires a 6-digit programming code and a 10-digit MIN/MSID. If your device was activated via www.sprint.com/activate, these codes may be found in the phone activation confirmation email or on the programming instructions page displayed after the activation was processed.

If this is a new line of service or you don't have these codes, contact Sprint Customer Care or a Sprint store for assistance getting your device programmed.

  • Manual programming

    1. From the home screen, tap the Phone icon.
    2. Dial ## followed by the 6-digit programming code followed by #. For example, ##123456#.
    3. Tap the Menu key.
    4. Tap Edit.
    5. Enter the 10-digit MIN/MSID.
    6. Enter the 10-digit phone number (MDN).
    7. Tap Done.
    8. Your device restarts.
    9. After it restarts, from the home screen, tap the Menu key.
    10. Tap Settings.
    11. Scroll to and tap About phone.
    12. Scroll to and tap System updates.
    13. Tap Update Profile.
    14. After the update is complete, tap OK.
    15. You've now completed manual programming.

Only reset your device if it was previously active using a different phone number (MDN).

Resetting your device requires a 6-digit programming code. If your device was activated via www.sprint.com/activate, this code may be found in the phone activation confirmation email or on the programming instructions page displayed after the activation was processed.

If this is a new line of service or you don't have this code, contact Sprint Customer Care or a Sprint store for assistance getting your device programmed.

  • Device reset

    1. From the home screen, tap the Phone icon.
    2. Enter the 6-digit programming code.
    3. Tap Verify.
    4. Tap Yes.
    5. Your device restarts.
    6. After it restarts, your device is ready to be used.
    7. You've now reset your device.
