NOTE: To install and run the Sprint Mobile Broadband USB modem and accompanying software, your system requires:
All necessary software and device drivers are automatically installed when you insert the Novatel Wireless Ovation U727 into your computer.
If your Subscription/MDN and Electronic Serial Number (ESN) are already in the Sprint billing system, you can simply click Yes at the activation prompt to complete the activation process. However, if your Subscription/MDN and ESN are not in the Sprint billing system or One-Touch Activation was unsuccessful, additional steps are required.
If your Subscription/MDN and ESN are not in the Sprint billing system, perform the following steps:
NOTE: Windows will detect the Ovation U727 and automatically install the necessary device drivers as well as Sprint Mobile Broadband (SMB) Lite.
ALERT: Ensure that the Ovation U727 antenna is fully extended for proper operation.
NOTE: To enable firmware updates, you will need to install the full version of the Connection Manager.
NOTE: If you click No, you will be prompted to activate your Ovation U727 the next time you attempt to connect to Sprint Mobile Broadband.
NOTE: Once the activation process is finished, Sprint Mobile Broadband displays Disconnected, which is the default Ready-to-Connect state.
Expect to wait up to four hours for your USB modem to be ready for regular use.
If One-Touch Activation was unsuccessful, perform the following steps:
NOTE: It can take up to four hours to complete the activation process and for your phone to begin working. If the provisioning process does not complete within five hours, contact us.
