Program your Samsung Trender

You can use these programming instructions if you have completed the Activate your new phone process in My Sprint. Your confirmation email or Programming Instructions page will have any codes you may need for these instructions to work.

Note: If you are programming a phone that was previously activated on our network and used by another customer, please follow the Program a Used Phone steps toward the bottom of the page.

Program a Brand New Phone

  1. Turn your phone On by pressing the Power button
  2. You will see the message, Hands Free Activation, Contacting network as the phone goes through the activation process
  3. When you see the message, Your device has now been activated! Press OK to continue, press OK
  4. The phone will turn off and turn back on
  5. After the phone reboots and returns to the idle screen, your Samsung Trender™ is ready to use to make calls and access data

If your phone did not activate successfully when you turned it on for the first time, complete the following steps:

  1. Turn your phone On by pressing the Power button
  2. Press the Home/OK button to open the Main Menu
  3. Touch the Web tab on the screen
  4. Touch the Web icon to launch the Web Internet browser
  5. The voice and data services will begin programming; when complete, you will see a message that the phone was programmed successfully
  6. Press OK
  7. The Web browser will launch, and your Samsung Trender is ready to use to make calls and access data

Program a Used Phone

Note: Please follow these steps if you are programming a phone that was previously activated on our network and used by another customer and if you have completed the Activate your new phone process in My Sprint. Refer to your confirmation email or Programming Instructions page for any codes you may need for these instructions to work.

Important Note: These steps will permanently clear out all previous programming and account information. If you want to keep the contacts and apps previously installed on the phone, follow the Phone Reset Steps.

  1. On the phone dial pad, press ## followed by the 6-digit code you received in the Activate your new phone process in My Sprint, followed by an additional #. (Example: ##123456# Note: The last # entered will not show on the display)
  2. The SVC Menu will be displayed
  3. Slide the phone open to access the QWERTY keyboard
  4. Scroll down to Edit
  5. Press Enter and the Enter MSID screen will be displayed
  6. Enter the 10-digit MSID and press Enter
  7. This will take you back to the original SVC Menu screen
  8. Scroll down to Done and press Enter
  9. The phone will turn off and turn back on and voice programming is complete

Note: It can take up to 4 hours to complete the activation process and for your phone to begin working. If the provisioning process does not complete within 5 hours, contact us.

Phone Reset Steps

Note: This process only clears out the previous phone number and ownership information; it does not clear everything off of the phone (contacts, photos, applications, etc.).

  1. Turn your phone On by pressing the Power button
  2. On the phone dial pad, enter ##72786#
  3. Select Reset
  4. When prompted for Service Code, enter the 6-digit code you received in the Activate your new phone process in My Sprint
  5. Select Done
  6. When you see the message, SCRTN is change to factory default value for DSS, select Done
  7. Your phone will turn off and turn back on and then go through the activation process
  8. When you see the message Your device is now active, press OK
