Program your Treo 650 by Palm

Last Updated: Nov 18, 2013

You can use these programming instructions if you have a new phone or a used phone activated by a previous owner, and you have completed the Activate your new phone process in My Sprint. If so, you should refer to the page you printed showing the codes you need for these instructions to work.

To program your phone:

  1. Find the electronic serial number (ESN) on your phone. There are two places you can find it:
    • Underneath the battery on the phone: Turn your phone off by pressing the red End key, and then remove the battery. The serial number is listed on the phone next to ESN DEC or ESN HEX.
    • By the barcode sticker on the end of the original box: The serial number is labeled ESN DEC or ESN HEX.
  2. If necessary, place the battery back into the phone. Press and hold the END key to turn your phone on.
  3. Verify the screen displays the correct date and time.
  4. To display the dial pad, press the Phone key.
  5. If you have a new phone, a phone that has never been activated, follow the instructions below:
    • Press ## followed by the one-time 6-digit code, located in the Programming Instructions section of the Activate your new phone page, followed by an additional #. (Example 6-digit code: ##123456#. The last # entered will not show on the display.)
  6. If you have a previously activated phone, a phone that is new to you, but not brand new, follow the instructions below:
    • Press ## followed by the secondary 6-digit code, located in the Programming Instructions section of the Activate your new phone page, followed by an additional #. (Example 6-digit code: ##123456#. The last # entered will not show on the display.)
  7. Tap EDIT. NOTE: The Mobile Number (MDN) field is selected.
  8. Using the QWERTY keypad, enter the 10-digit MDN. NOTE: There is no need to hold down the Number Lock key; the field is defaulted for numbers.
  9. In the number entry field next to MIN, tap twice. NOTE: The MSID field will display all zeros.
  10. Enter the 10-digit MSID.
  11. From the lower left portion of the display, tap Save. NOTE: Once finished, the following message will appear: Activation Complete. Congratulations! You have successfully programmed your Treo.
  12. Tap OK.

NOTE: It can take up to four hours to complete the activation process and for your phone to begin working. If the provisioning process does not complete within five hours, contact us.
