Program your Treo 700wx by Palm

Last Updated: Nov 18, 2013

You can use these programming instructions if you have a new phone or a used phone activated by a previous owner, and you have completed the Activate your new phone process in My Sprint. If so, you should refer to the page you printed showing the codes you need for these instructions to work.

To program your phone:

  1. Find the serial number on your phone. This appears in three places:
    • By the barcode sticker on the end of the box, labeled ESN or MEID.
    • Underneath the battery in the phone, below the first bar code, labeled MEID HEX.
    • You can also find this information after powering on the device by going to the dial pad. Press the Phone button, press the right softkey to select Menu > Options > Phone Info. The MEID number is listed on the first screen labeled MEID.
  2. Turn on your Treo by pressing the green Phone button. NOTE: You may need to turn off Key Guard by pressing the green Phone button to wake up the screen and then quickly pressing the Center key. If this is not done, the screen will stay locked and turn off.
  3. Look under the Start symbol to verify that Wireless Mode is on. If Sprint appears, then your wireless mode is on. You will not be able to activate your phone if wireless mode is off. NOTE: If your phone displays Phone Off under the Start symbol, hold the red Power/End button down for several seconds until Sprint appears.
  4. If you have a new phone, one that has never been activated, follow the instructions below:
    • Using the stylus, tap ## followed by the one-time 6-digit code, located in the Programming Instructions section on the Activate your new phone page, followed by an additional #. (For example ##123456#. The # key is located on the B key. This will take you to the Activating Your Phone menu.)
  5. If you have a previously activated phone, one that is new to you but not brand new, follow the instructions below:
    • Using the stylus, tap ##, followed by the secondary 6-digit code, located in the Programming Instructions section on the Activate your new phone page, followed by an additional #. (For example ##123456#. The # key is located on the B key. This will take you to the Activating Your Phone menu.)
  6. Using the Back Arrow key, clear any numbers. Using the QWERTY keyboard, enter the 10-digit phone number (MDN), located in the Programming Instructions section on the Activate your new phone page. There is no need to hold down the number lock key; the text box defaults to numbers.
  7. Press the Down Arrow key to scroll to the MSID text box.
  8. Using the Back Arrow key, clear any numbers. Using the QWERTY keyboard, enter the 10-digit MSID, located in the Programming Instructions section on the Activate your new phone page. There is no need to hold down the number lock key; the text box defaults to numbers.
  9. Select Save. An Activation Complete message will appear.
  10. Tap the OK dialog box located at the bottom left of the display screen. A Please Wait message appears.

NOTE: It can take up to four hours to complete the activation process and for your phone to begin working. If the provisioning process does not complete within five hours, contact us.
