Program your Treo Pro by Palm

Last Updated: Nov 18, 2013

You can use these programming instructions if you have a new phone or a used phone activated by a previous owner, and you have completed the Activate your new phone process in My Sprint. If so, you should refer to the page you printed showing the codes you need for these instructions to work.

To automatically program your phone:

  1. If the phone is on, press and hold the End key to turn the phone off, and then press and hold the End key turn it back on. The message Hands-Free Activation, Contacting Network appears. Note: You may need to digitize the screen if this is the first time you have powered on the device.
  2. If activation is successful, the message Your device has been activated appears, and the following items are programmed:
    • PTN (phone number)
    • MSID (network identifier number)
    • Vision username and password
  3. If activation is unsuccessful, continue with the steps below.
  4. Press the Start button, select Settings > System tab > Update Profile.
  5. Turn the phone off and on. Confirm that voice and data services are working by attempting to make a phone call and accessing Sprint Power Vision. If the phone still does not work, continue with the steps below to manually program your phone.

To manually program your phone:

  1. Find the Mobile Equipment Identification Number (MEID) on your phone. You can locate it in 2 places:
    • Underneath the battery in the phone on the right side of the barcode sticker. To view it, turn off the phone and remove the battery.
    • On the barcode sticker on the end of the original box, labeled DEC-HEX.
  2. Insert the battery into the phone. If the phone radio is not turned on, press and hold the End button to turn the phone on.
  3. Press the Phone/Talk key and then select Keypad, or press the right softkey to select Menu and then select Keypad.
  4. If you have a new phone that has never been activated:
    • On the keypad, press ##, enter the one time 6-digit code from the Programming Information section on the Activate your new phone page, and then press # again. For example: ##123456#
  5. If you have a used phone that has previously been activated:
    • On the keypad, press ##, enter the secondary 6-digit code from the Programming Information section on the Activate your new phone page, and then press # again. For example: ##123456#
  6. From the Activating Your Phone menu, tap Edit.
  7. Tap the MDN text box and press the right softkey to select Menu > Edit.
  8. Scroll to the Value text box. Using the QWERTY keyboard, enter the 10-digit MDN from the Programming Information section on the Activate your new phone page. There is no need to hold down the Option key as the text box defaults to numbers. Tap OK.
  9. Press down on 5-way navigation key or tap the MSID text box. Press the right softkey to select Menu > Edit.
  10. Using the QWERTY keyboard, enter the 10-digit MSID. There is no need to hold down the Option key as the text box defaults to numbers. Tap OK.
  11. Tap OK located in the upper-right corner of the display. There is a brief pause.
  12. From the Update the items dialog box, tap Yes.
  13. To reset the device, from the Press OK to reset the device dialog box, tap OK, and the device resets. Programming is complete, and you should be able to use your phone.

Note: It can take up to 4 hours to complete the activation process and for your phone to begin working. If the provisioning process does not complete within 5 hours, contact us.
