Program your ZTE Optik

You can use these programming instructions if you have completed the Activate your new phone process in My Sprint. Your confirmation email or Programming Instructions page will have any codes you may need for these instructions to work.

Note: If you are programming a tablet that was previously activated on our network and used by another customer, please follow the Program a Used Tablet steps toward the bottom of the page.

Program a Brand New Tablet

  1. Turn on the device on by pressing and holding the Power button on the top right side of the device
  2. Your device will contact the network and automatically activate
  3. Once complete, you will see the message Your table has been activated; tap OK to continue
  4. You will be prompted to update the PRL; tap OK to continue
  5. You will then be prompted to update the Firmware; tap OK and you will return to the set up screen
  6. Next you will walk through completing setup such as how to use the on-screen keyboard, use Google location, set up accounts, and set up social networks
  7. Once set up is complete, you will be returned to the Home screen and your device is ready to use to make calls and access data

If your tablet did not activate successfully when you turned it on for the first time, complete the following steps:

Note: If programming is not successful, you will see a Retry message up to 5 more times. To move forward, tap Activate at the screen attempting to retry hands-free activation.

  1. At the Sprint Zone Device Self-Service screen, tap Activate My Device.
  2. You will see the message The network is preparing your service. Please wait.. Do not interrupt this process. If the screen goes into sleep mode, you may press the power button and unlock the screen.
  3. When completed, tap OK to reboot.
  4. Your tablet will turn off and turn back on

Program a Used Tablet

Note: Please follow these steps if you are programming a tablet that was previously activated on our network and used by another customer and if you have completed the Activate your new phone process in My Sprint. Refer to your confirmation email or Programming Instructions page for any codes you may need for these instructions to work.

  1. Turn the tablet on by pressing and holding the Power button on the top right of the device
  2. To unlock the tablet, press and hold the ring shown on the screen and drag it upwards
  3. At the Home screen, tap Browser
  4. In the browser address bar, type ##EPST# and tap Enter
  5. Type ##72786#
  6. Tap Yes
  7. Device will clear previous internal programming information and reboot
  8. After device reboots, the device will try Hands Free Activation.

If you want to keep the contacts and applications previously installed on the phone, your steps are now complete.

If you want to permanently clear out or remove any previous contacts, photos or applications on the phone, follow these steps:

  1. From the Home Screen, Tap Browser
  2. In the browser address bar, type ##EPST# and tap Enter>
  3. Type ##786#
  4. Tap Reset
  5. Enter the 6-digit code you received in the Activate your new phone process in My Sprint then tap OK on
  6. At the warning prompt, tap OK
  7. Device will reboot and all content, settings, and programming information has been removed.
