Recover contacts on your Blackberry Curve 8530

Steps to recover your saved contacts

Note: You can recover your contacts only if you've previously backed them up.
  • Display options

    Be sure all of your contacts are visible.

    1. From the home screen, scroll to Contacts, and press the trackpad.
    2. Press the Menu key.
    3. Scroll to Filter, and press the trackpad.
    4. Scroll to and press the trackpad to remove any categories that have a check mark.
    5. You can now see all of your contacts.

  • Sync contacts with BlackBerry Desktop Software™

    If you've saved your contacts on your computer, you can recover them with BlackBerry Desktop Software.

  • Google™

    If you've saved your contacts to your Google account, you can restore them by adding your Google account to your device.

    1. From the home screen, press the Menu key.
    2. Scroll to Setup, and press the trackpad.
    3. Scroll to Email Settings, and press the trackpad.
    4. If required, scroll to Add and press the trackpad.
    5. Scroll to Gmail, and press the trackpad.
    6. Enter your Gmail Email address and Password.
    7. Scroll to Next, and press the trackpad.
    8. Be sure that Contacts is checked, scroll to Next, and then press the trackpad.
    9. With OK highlighted, press the trackpad.
    10. You've now added your Google account and automatically synchronized your contacts.

  • Bluetooth®

    Some Bluetooth-enabled devices have Bluetooth file transfer capabilities. If you stored your contacts on another Bluetooth-enabled device, you can recover your contacts.

    1. Be sure you have Bluetooth enabled on the other device and it's ready to be paired.
    2. From the BlackBerry Curve 8530 home screen, press the Menu key.
    3. Scroll to Manage Connections, and press the trackpad.
    4. If Bluetooth is not checked, scroll to Bluetooth and press the trackpad.
    5. Scroll to Bluetooth Options, and press the trackpad.
    6. If the other device is not listed, press the Menu key.
    7. Scroll to Add Device, and press the trackpad.
      • If prompted to change the device name, read the prompt and select your preferred option.
    8. With Search selected, press the trackpad.
    9. Scroll to the name of the other device, and press the trackpad.
      • If a Bluetooth pairing request appears, verify the passkeys match and tap Yes.
      • If prompted, enter the passkey, scroll to OK, and press the trackpad.
      • If you are unsure of the passkey, try entering 0000 or 1234 (the default passkey for most Bluetooth devices).
    10. After you've paired the devices, transfer the contacts from the other device.
    11. On your BlackBerry Curve 8530 open the file, and follow the prompts to load the contacts into your contact list.
