Steps to recover your saved contacts

    1. From the home screen, tap Contacts.
    2. Tap the Menu key.
    3. Tap Contacts to display.
    4. Under Contacts to display, tap All contacts.
    5. You can now see all of your contacts.
  • Memory card

If you saved your contacts to the memory card on either your Samsung Galaxy S® 4 or a previous device, you can recover your contacts.

    1. From the home screen, tap Contacts.
    2. Tap the Menu key.
    3. Tap Import/Export.
    4. Tap Import from SD card.
    5. Tap the location where you want to save your contacts.
    6. Your Samsung Galaxy S 4 automatically searches for contact (vCard) files on the memory card. If the search returns more than one contact file, tap the preferred file and tap OK.

    Import contacts to the device.

  • Google Sync™

Google Sync is a free service that synchronizes your Samsung Galaxy S 4 with your Google™ (Gmail™) account. If you've saved your contacts to your Google account, you can restore them to your device.

    1. From the home screen, tap Apps.
    2. Scroll to and tap Settings.
    3. Tap Accounts.
    4. Tap Add account.
    5. Tap Google.
    6. Tap Existing.
    7. Enter your Google account credentials and tap the Next arrow.
    8. Read the Terms of Service message and tap OK.
    9. Tap Not now.
    10. Tap to check or uncheck your preferred sync option and tap the Next arrow.
    11. You've now added the Google account.

    Set up a Google account.

  • Bluetooth®

Some Bluetooth-enabled devices have Bluetooth file transfer capabilities. If you stored your contacts on another Bluetooth-enabled device, you can recover your contacts.

    1. Be sure you have Bluetooth enabled on the other device and ready to pair.
    2. From the Samsung Galaxy S 4 home screen, tap Apps.
    3. Scroll to and tap Settings.
    4. Tap Connections.
    5. Tap Bluetooth.
    6. Tap the Bluetooth slider to ON if it isn't already selected.
    7. Your device searches for available Bluetooth devices within range. Tap the name of the other device.
    8. If a Bluetooth pairing request displays, verify the passkeys match and tap OK.
      • If prompted, enter the passkey and tap OK.
      • If you're unsure of the passkey, try entering 0000 or 1234 (the default for most Bluetooth devices).
    9. After you've paired the devices, begin the transfer of contacts from the other device.
    10. After the transfer is complete, open the file on your Samsung Galaxy S 4 and follow the prompts to load your contacts into your contact list.
    11. Note: Sprint recommends you save your contacts to your Google account.

    Pair with a Bluetooth device.
