Recover contacts on your Samsung M400

Steps to recover your saved contacts

Note: You can recover your contacts only if you've previously backed them up.

  • Display options

    Be sure all of your contacts are visible.

    1. From the home screen, press the Center key.
    2. Scroll to Contacts and press the Center key.
    3. Press OPTIONS.
    4. Scroll to Settings and press the Center key.
      • If Show Secret displays: Scroll to Show Secret, press the Center key, and then enter the Lock Code.
      • If Hide Secret displays: You can already view all your contacts.
  • Bluetooth®

    Some Bluetooth-enabled devices have Bluetooth file transfer capabilities. If you stored your contacts on another Bluetooth-enabled device, you can recover your contacts.

    1. Be sure you have Bluetooth enabled on the other device and it's ready to be paired.
    2. From the Samsung M400™ home screen, press the Center key.
    3. Scroll to Settings/Tools and press the Center key.
    4. Scroll to Tools and press the Center key.
    5. Scroll to Bluetooth and press the Center key.
    6. With On/Off highlighted, press the Center key.
    7. Scroll to On and press the Center key.
    8. Scroll to Add New and press the Center key.
    9. Your device searches for available Bluetooth devices within range. Scroll to the name of the other device and press the Center key.
    10. If a REQUEST PAIR prompt displays, verify the passkeys match and press YES.
      • If prompted, enter the PIN and press the Center key.
      • If you're unsure of the PIN, try entering 0000 or 1234 (the default for most Bluetooth devices).
    11. After you've paired the devices, begin the transfer of contacts from the other device.
    12. After the transfer is complete, open the file on your Samsung M400 and follow the prompts to load the contacts into the contact list.
