Troubleshoot call volume on your Kyocera Verve

This article helps troubleshoot in-call sound quality on your Kyocera Verve.

These steps help identify and resolve the underlying cause. After completing each step, test to see if the issue is fixed. If not, continue to the next step.

  1. Verify the volume is turned up.

    The volume for voice calls can be adjusted only when you are on a voice call. To turn up the volume, first make a call. After the call is answered, press the Volume up key until the preferred volume is reached.
  2. Update the PRL.

    1. From the home screen, press the center key.
    2. Scroll to Tools, then press the center key.
    3. Scroll to Update Phone, then press the center key.
    4. Scroll to Update PRL, then press the center key.
    5. Press OK.
  3. Verify if coverage is available at your current location.

    If your phone has low signal strength, see if your location is within Sprint voice coverage on the Sprint coverage map.
  4. Perform a soft reset.

    Performing a soft reset will restart your phone and close this guide.

    1. Turn your phone off.
    2. Remove the battery. After 30 seconds, reinsert the battery.
    3. Turn your phone back on.

Note: To optimize device performance, be sure your Kyocera Verve is running the most recent device software. Check for software updates.
