Troubleshoot charging issues on your HTC One

This article helps troubleshoot charging issues on your HTC One.

You may have charging issues if your HTC One®

  • Doesn't charge
  • Charges slowly

Try each of these steps if your phone has charging issues.

  1. Verify that your phone and charging port are not damaged.

    1. Carefully inspect your phone to be sure it's not overheating, swollen or damaged.
    2. Carefully inspect your phone's charging port and remove any debris.

    Caution: If your phone is damaged, do not complete the remaining steps in this guide. Make an appointment at a convenient Sprint Repair center.

  2. Verify that your HTC One can power on.

    1. Turn your phone on.
  3. Verify that your charger is working.

    Note: You risk severe damage to your phone if the charger isn't the same voltage, amps, and plug type as your original charger. You can purchase compatible chargers on sprint.com and at any Sprint Store.

    1. Connect your phone to your charger.
    2. Access Sprint Zone.
    3. Scroll to and tap My Device.
    4. Tap Dashboard.
    5. Tap Battery Status.
    6. Verify that the Battery Status is Charging.
  4. Verify that your HTC One is running the most recent software.

    1. Tap the System Updates dashboard.
    2. Tap Device Software.
    3. Tap Check now.
      • If an update is available, follow the prompts to install.
  5. Perform a soft reset.

    A soft reset restarts your phone and does not erase any of your content or data.

    1. Press and hold the Power key until your HTC One turns off.
    2. Your HTC One restarts.
