Troubleshoot if you receive Insert SIM error message on your Motorola i1

You may experience the following issue with your Motorola i1.

Your i1 may display the Insert SIM error message if the SIM card is defective or has become corrupted.

To find out if your SIM card is defective or corrupted:

  1. Place the SIM card into a phone you know is in good working order to make sure the problem is with the SIM card and not your i1
  2. Check to make sure your SIM card is correctly inserted in the SIM card slot on your i1
  3. Verify that the way your SIM card is inserted matches what is shown on the phone or in the user guide

Note: Motorola's preferred method to copy SIM information from one SIM to another is by using any of these methods:

  • RSS
  • CellBright
  • iDEN Phonebook Manager

If your SIM card is defective, you will need to swap it out for a new SIM card. To get a new SIM card, contact our Customer Care team.
