Troubleshoot issues related to Wi-Fi connectivity issues on your Samsung Galaxy S 4 mini

This article helps troubleshoot Wi-Fi connectivity issues on your Samsung Galaxy S 4 mini.

You may have Wi-Fi connectivity issues if your phone:

  • Can't connect to a wireless network.
  • Connects to a wireless network, but is unable to browse.
  • Experiences limited connectivity when connected to Wi-Fi.

These steps help identify and resolve the underlying cause. After completing each step, test to see if the issue is fixed.

  1. Make sure you've turned on Wi-Fi on your Samsung Galaxy S® 4 mini .

    1. From the home screen, tap the Menu Key.
    2. Scroll to and tap Settings.
      • To turn Wi-Fi on, tap the Wi-Fi switch to ON.
  2. Make sure the wireless network password is correct.

    If the wireless network password is incorrect or changes, your Samsung Galaxy S 4 mini can't connect to the Wi-Fi network. Remove and reconnect to the network to make sure the password is correct.

    1. From the home screen, tap the Menu key.
    2. Tap Settings.
    3. Tap Wi-Fi.
    4. Tap and hold the preferred, connected network.
    5. Tap Forget network
    6. Tap the network you want to connect to.
    7. Enter the correct password, then tap Connect.
  3. Perform a soft reset.

    1. Turn your phone off.
    2. Remove the battery. After 10 seconds, reinsert the battery.
    3. Turn your phone back on.
