Troubleshoot issues related to a blinking/solid red GPS LED on your AIRAVE 2.5

This article helps troubleshoot a blinking/solid red GPS LED on your AIRAVE 2.5.

A red GPS LED usually occurs when your:

  • AIRAVE 2.5 is still trying to acquire GPS lock
  • AIRAVE 2.5 isn't positioned near a window
  • GPS cable or Antenna Module isn't connected correctly
  • GPS cable or Antenna Module isn't positioned near a window

These steps help identify and resolve the underlying cause. After completing each step, test to see if the issue is fixed. If you have uncovered an issue that you can't fix, contact Sprint AIRAVE Support at (866) 556- 7310.

  1. GPS LED and all other LEDs are solid red.

    If the GPS and all other LEDs are solid red, plug the AIRAVE 2.5 into a different power outlet.

    If you've received a replacement AIRAVE 2.5, ensure all new accessories (power adapter, etc) are used.

    If the GPS LED and all other LEDs are still solid red, contact Sprint AIRAVE Support at (866) 556- 7310.

  2. Ensure that the GPS cable and Antenna Module are connected to your AIRAVE 2.5.

  3. Try disconnecting and reconnecting the GPS cable from from both the AIRAVE 2.5 and the GPS Antenna Module.

    Note: Make sure that the cable is fully extended, unraveled, and does not have any nicks or defects.

  4. Move the antenna to a different location.

    Sprint recommends that you place the antenna near a window. If a window is not available, place the antenna near a wall that is close to the exterior of the location.

    Note: GPS lock should acquire within 15 minutes.

  5. If the GPS LED continues to blink or changes to SOLID RED, factory reset the AIRAVE 2.5.
