This article provides troubleshooting tips for the HTC EVO 3D. It contains troubleshooting steps and advice to help resolve issues that may occur when attempting to send or receive emails. The symptoms you may experience if you are having this problem include:
The following steps and advice can be used to help identify the underlying cause of the issue and resolve it. After completing each step, test to see if the problem still occurs. If so, proceed to the following step.
Check that your HTC EVO 3D is connected to the data network. Follow these instructions to access Sprint Zone and browse to Help > I Need Help. The voice and data connection will automatically be tested. If the test fails, update the data profile by tapping Update Profile. This can potentially fix connectivity issues. If updating the data profile does not resolve the issue, move on to the next step.
Verify that the email address and password are correct.
Using your HTC EVO 3D web browser, navigate to the respective email provider's website and attempt to sign in to the email account. If you are unable to sign in to the email account using the web browser, double-check that your username and password is correct. If your email account password has recently been updated with your email provider, the password must also be updated within your HTC EVO 3D email settings.
If you are able to sign in to the email account using the web browser, double-check that the account is set up properly and the email server, port, and security settings are correct. To set up an email account, follow these instructions.
This process will re-establish the device's connection to the Sprint network. To perform a soft reset, turn your HTC EVO 3D off and remove the battery. After 30 seconds, reinsert the battery and turn your HTC EVO 3D back on. If a soft reset did not solve the problem, then move on to the next step.
In order for your HTC EVO 3D to send and receive email you need to enter the settings. The instructions for this differ depending on what type of email address you are trying to set up.
Are you trying to set up a personal email address?
This is the most common scenario and includes all major public email providers such as Yahoo!, Hotmail and AOL.
- Have you already tried to set up an email address on your HTC EVO 3D? If so, please remove it. This will ensure any incorrect settings are removed from the device. This will not delete any of your emails. To do this, follow these instructions. If you have not already tried to set up an email address then please move onto the next step.
- To add the email account to your HTC EVO 3D, follow these instructions.
You should now be able to send and receive email on your HTC EVO 3D. If you are still experiencing problems, you will need to check that your email account is still valid and that your settings are correct. Contact your email service provider and ask them for your POP or IMAP settings. Most providers have this information on their website. Apply these settings in step 2 above.
Are you trying to set up a small business email address via Microsoft Exchange?

You will also need to know your corporate password. Once you have this information, to set up your account, follow these instructions. If your Exchange account is still not functional after performing these steps, contact your corporate IT department for further assistance.
