This article helps troubleshoot making or receiving calls on your Nexus S 4G from Google.

Verify airplane mode is turned off.
Airplane mode is a feature that prevents your device from sending or receiving a wireless transmission.
Verify your Nexus S™ 4G from Google is connected to the Sprint network using the web browser.
Be sure mobile data is enabled. Some features and applications require a data connection to work properly.
Verify if coverage is available at your current location.
If your Nexus S 4G from Google has low signal strength, see if your location is within Sprint voice coverage on the Sprint coverage map.
Perform a soft reset.
A soft reset reconnects your Nexus S 4G from Google to the Sprint network.
