Last Updated: Jan 02, 2013

This article provides troubleshooting tips for the HTC EVO 3D. It contains troubleshooting steps and advice to help resolve issues that may occur when using your HTC EVO 3D as a mobile hotspot.

The symptoms you may experience if you are having this problem include:
  • Error 67
  • Unable to connect to the mobile hotspot
  • Connected to the mobile hotspot but unable to browse

The following steps and advice can be used to help identify the underlying cause of the issue and resolve it. After completing each step, test to see if the problem still occurs. If so, proceed to the following step.

  1. Verify the feature is enabled and has been set up properly on your HTC EVO 3D.

Follow these instructions to ensure the Wi-Fi hotspot is enabled. If this does not resolve the issue, ensure the Wi-Fi hotspot is properly set up.

To verify that the Wi-Fi hotspot has been properly set up, follow these instructions. If this does not resolve the issue, move on to the next step.
  2. Verify your HTC EVO 3D is connected to the Sprint voice and data network using Sprint Zone.

Check that your HTC EVO 3D is connected to the data network. Follow these instructions to access Sprint Zone and browse to Help > I Need Help. The voice and data connection will automatically be tested. If the test fails, update the data profile by tapping Update Profile. Updating the data profile can fix Error 67. If updating the data profile does not resolve the issue, move on to the next step.

  3. Verify that the mobile hotspot feature has been added to the account.

Sprint requires that the hotspot feature is on your account to enable the hotspot capability. To add the feature to your account or verify that the feature has been added to your account, log in to MySprint. If this feature is not present on your account, the devices connected to your HTC EVO 3D mobile hotspot will be unable to browse the internet.

  4. Perform a soft reset.

This process will re-establish your HTC EVO 3D connection to the Sprint network. To perform a soft reset, turn your HTC EVO 3D off and remove the battery. After 30 seconds, reinsert the battery and turn your HTC EVO 3D back on.

Note: To optimize device performance, ensure your HTC EVO 3D is running the most recent device software. To check for software updates, follow these instructions.
