Troubleshoot issues related to text messaging on your Samsung ATIV S Neo

This article helps troubleshoot text messaging issues on your Samsung ATIV S Neo.

You may have text messaging issues if your phone is:

  • Unable to send or receive text messages
  • Displaying error codes or network messages when you try to send a text message

These steps help identify and resolve the underlying cause. After completing each step, test to see if the issue is fixed. If not, continue to the next step.

  1. Enable mobile data.

    1. From the Start screen, swipe to the left.
    2. Scroll to and tap Settings.
    3. Scroll to and tap cellular.
    4. Tap Data connection.
    5. To enable mobile data, tap on.
    6. You've now enabled mobile data.
  2. Update the network profile.

    1. From the Start screen, swipe to the left.
    2. Scroll to and tap Settings.
    3. Scroll to and tap network profile update.
    4. Tap update profile.
    5. Your phone automatically updates and configures the network profile.
    6. After it completes, tap done.
    7. You've now updated the network profile.
  3. Perform a soft reset.

    A soft reset reconnects your Samsung ATIV S Neo to the Sprint network.

    1. Turn your phone off.
    2. Remove the battery. After 30 seconds, reinsert the battery.
    3. Turn your phone back on.
  4. Have you ever been able to send or receive a text message on your Samsung ATIV S Neo?

    If your Samsung ATIV S Neo is active and you've never been able to text, contact Sprint Customer Care for further troubleshooting.

Note: To optimize phone performance, be sure your Samsung ATIV S Neo is running the most recent phone software. Check for software updates.
