Application icons may be missing from the Home screen of your BlackBerry® Tour™ 9630 smartphone because:
- The Hide Icon setting has been turned on for less frequently used applications.
- There are more than 31 applications installed on your phone.
- The icon was moved into a folder on the Home screen of your phone.
If the Hide Icon setting has been turned on
To show the hidden icons:
- Select an icon on the Home screen
- Press the Menu key
- Click Show All
- To show the hidden icon, select the transparent icon on the Home screen that you want to make visible
- Press the Menu key
- Cancel the Hide Icon selection
If there are more than 31 applications installed on your phone
Only 31 applications can initialize at start up, including third-party and system applications. If you have more than 31 applications installed, remove any unnecessary applications. To remove applications, use one of the three following options:
Use the application loader tool
- Connect your BlackBerry to a computer with the BlackBerry Desktop Manager and the most recent version of BlackBerry Device Software installed
- Open BlackBerry Desktop Manager, and then click Application Loader
- Run the Application Loader Wizard
- From the applications list, clear the checkbox for the application that you want to remove
- Click Finish
Manually delete the application
- If your phone is using BlackBerry Device Software 4.1 or later, go to Options > Advanced Options > Applications
- If your phone is using BlackBerry Device Software 4.0 or earlier, go to Options > Applications
- Select the third-party application you want to delete, and then select Delete
- When asked if you wish to restart the BlackBerry device, select Yes
- Create an application control policy to remove the unwanted application
If the icon was moved into a folder on the Home screen of your phone
Browse through the folders on the Home screen to locate the missing icon.
