Troubleshoot why the U301 USB Device Sprint 3G/4G Mobile Broadband is not recognized at boot up

Sometimes if the U301 USB Device Sprint 3G/4G Mobile Broadband is plugged in during system boot up, it will not be recognized by your computer.


To resolve this issue:

  1. Validate that you are on Sprint SmartView software (SSV) 2.28 (packaged with U301) or above
  2. Pull the device from computer
  3. Close SSV and re-open
  4. Re-insert the device

Note: At any time, you can check that you have the latest software version for your phone. For instructions on how to check your software version, from the SSV main menu, go to Tools > Check for Update Now.
