FAQs related to proper care of the touchscreen and charging port on your Moto G

Last Updated: Jan 18, 2016

Answers to some of your questions about Moto G touchscreen and charging port care

  • How should I clean the touchscreen?

Use a microfiber cloth and lightly wipe the screen.

Note: These instructions are for screens that do not have a screen protector. If you are using a screen protector, check with the maker of the screen protector for instructions on how to clean the screen protector.

Note: Use only a microfiber cloth. The same cloth used to clean eyeglasses - as other materials may scratch the screen. You may need a little water if the screen is very dirty.

  • What can I do to protect the touchscreen?

  • Here's how to protect your touchscreen:

    • Apply a screen protector.
    • Clean the touchscreen regularly as described above.
    • Avoid putting your phone in direct sunlight.
    • Tap the touchscreen lightly.
    • Avoid putting your phone in a pocket that contains coins, keys, or other metallic items as they may scratch the screen.
    • Hold your Moto G™ carefully, and always set it down gently.

  • What can I do to protect the charging port?

    Sprint recommends:

    • Be sure that the charging port is free of debris.
    • Don't force the charger into the charging port.
    • Be sure that the charger is right-side up when you insert it.
    • Don't remove the charger or pick up your Moto G by the charger cord.
    • Avoid picking up or holding your Moto G when it's connected to the charger.
