What is Sprint’s current unlimited offer for new customers?

I signed up for Unlimited Freedom between 2/10 and 2/16/17. Can I get the 2/17/17 promotional plan?

To be eligible for the Unlimited Freedom line 1 discount and free lines 3-5, you must have joined Sprint on the Unlimited Data, Talk, and Text promotion that began on 2/10/17. If you’re eligible, there’s no need to act. We’ll send you a text and automatically move you to the new promotional plan so you can enjoy the added benefits of free HD Streaming and 10 GB of high-speed Mobile Hotspot data.

Is Unlimited Freedom available to current Sprint customers changing plans?

Yes. With Unlimited Freedom, you get for all the data, talk and text you need for:

  • Line 1: $60/mo.
  • Line 2: $40/mo.
  • Lines 3-10: $30/line/mo.

Is mobile hotspot service part of the Unlimited Freedom plan?

Yes, you’ll get 10 GB/month for each line on the plan to use toward combined high-speed mobile hotspot, virtual private network (VPN) and peer-to-peer (P2P) usage. If all of a line’s data allowance is used, they can either:

  • Continue to use data for these purposes on our network at up to 2G speeds (32 Kbps) on an unlimited basis for no additional cost, or
  • Purchase more on-network high-speed data for these purposes for $15/1 GB to tide you over for the rest of your bill cycle.

Will I automatically get HD streaming?

If you are a new customer, a current customer new to Unlimited Freedom or a current customer on Unlimited Freedom with free and discounted lines, yes.

HD Streaming is not automatic if you added the Unlimited Freedom plan before 2/21/17. The easiest way to switch all of your lines to free HD Streaming is by calling *2 before March 31, 2017. You can also add the free service online anytime at sprint.com/mysprint.    

I’m a current Sprint customer on a non-Unlimited Freedom plan. Can I participate in your Unlimited Freedom Data, Talk and Text promotion?

The current Unlimited Freedom promotion with a $10 discount/month on line 1 and lines 3-5 free through 3/31/18 is to help entice new customers to join Sprint.

We recommend you move to the Unlimited Freedom plan that gives you all the data, talk and text you need for:

  • Line 1: $60/mo.
  • Line 2: $40/mo.
  • Lines 3-10: $30/line/mo.

This great pricing:

  • Is shown with an optional AutoPay discount of $5/line/mo. that’s applied within 2 invoices.
  • Requires eBill.

Why is eBill required? What can I do if this is not the billing method I prefer?

eBill is required with the Unlimited Freedom plan because it’s beneficial for the environment and helps us keep costs down to deliver this plan. You can switch to eBill after signing in to your account at sprint.com/mybilloptions. If you prefer paper billing, it’s available with other Sprint rate plans.

When you change your invoice delivery method to eBill, you’ll receive your choice of an email or text each month letting you know your bill is ready to be viewed online. If you haven’t signed up for AutoPay, you can pay your bill easily from your favorite device using a bank account or major credit card:

And, don’t worry about forgetting to pay, we’ll send you a reminder text if your bill hasn’t been paid a couple of days before it’s due.

Am I required to enroll in AutoPay to participate in the Unlimited Freedom plan?

You’re not required to enroll in Sprint AutoPay to participate in the Unlimited Freedom plan. The good news is by enrolling, you’ll receive a $5/line monthly credit for up to 10 lines. You have a choice, and it’s a great opportunity to save.

Yes, if you don’t want to worry about running out of data, surprise overages or data access charges. Unlimited Freedom is simple and worry-free. With Unlimited Freedom, you can enjoy HD Streaming for your videos, gaming and music. The pricing for current Sprint customers is simple:

  • Line 1: $60/mo.
  • Line 2: $40/mo.
  • Lines 3-10: $30/line/mo.

Prices require eBill and are shown with an optional AutoPay $5/line/mo. discount.

What kind of phone do I need for the Unlimited Freedom Plan?

Pair the Unlimited Freedom Plan with one of our latest smartphones that’s:

  • Leased
  • Purchased in monthly installments
  • Purchased at full price

As a current Sprint customer, can I switch to the Unlimited Freedom Plan if I purchased my phone at a discount with a 2-year agreement?

If it’s been less than 24 months since your discounted phone purchase, there’s an extra $25/mo./line charge applied to have the Unlimited Freedom Plan. It’s important you understand that this charge can really add up over time. If 24 months has elapsed, there’s no additional charge. The next time you change phones, we recommend you lease, purchase in installments or pay full price.

Can all my lines be on this plan?

Depending on your credit results, you can have up to 10 phones on the Unlimited Freedom Plan.

Is Unlimited Freedom for current Sprint Customers eligible for the Sprint Discount Program?

If you’re eligible for the Sprint Discount Program and are associated with a participating organization, you’ll receive a $5 discount per line each month for up to 10 lines on the Unlimited Freedom Plan. You can keep the discounts as long as you remain on the plan and comply with all discount program eligibility requirements.

Is Unlimited Freedom for new Sprint Customers eligible for the Sprint Discount Program?

If you joined Sprint on the Unlimited Data, Talk and Text promotion and you’re eligible for the Sprint Discount Program and are associated with a participating organization, you’ll receive a $5/mo. discount for lines 6 through 10 each month. You can keep the discounts as long as you remain on the plan and comply with all discount program eligibility requirements.

What organizations are excluded from the Sprint Discount Program for Unlimited Freedom?

These organizations are not in participating the Sprint Discount Program for Unlimited Freedom:

  • Credit Unions
  • American Airline AAdvantage
  • Target Red Card
  • Costco

Is Network Management Quality of Service part of the Unlimited Freedom Plan?

Yes, we manage our network at certain times (like during network congestion) to ensure the majority of customers get a good experience. If you use more than 23 GB of data during a billing cycle, your data usage will be de-prioritized during times and places where the Sprint Network is constrained. Go to sprint.com/networkmanagement for details about our network management practices.

What is Quality of Service (QoS)?

Sprint employs QoS or network prioritization, for certain unlimited data customers using more than 23 GB (adjusted periodically) of data during a single billing cycle. QoS helps protect against the possibility of unlimited data plan customers using high volumes of data that may occupy an unreasonable share of network resources. Impacted customers using more than 23 GB are de-prioritized at times and places where the availability of network resources is constrained.

Does that mean unlimited data customers are limited to 23 GB of data?

No. Impacted unlimited data customers can use unlimited amounts of data above and beyond the 23 GB threshold, but impacted customers may experience reduced speeds and delays compared to other customers while network resources are constrained. Temporary reductions in performance will only occur at times and places where capacity is constrained. No overage charges, data caps or full-time bandwidth reductions apply.

Will I get alerts when my mobile hotspot, VPN and P2P data is nearing the 10 GB monthly cap?

We’ll send you alerts by text message when your combined mobile hotspot, VPN and P2P data usage reaches 75 percent, 90 percent and 100 percent. If you don’t have text selected as your Usage Alert notification preference, we’ll send you an email if one is available. Check sprint.com/preferences to let us know how you want to be notified.

How can I monitor my mobile hotspot, VPN and P2P data usage?

Keep track of your line’s combined mobile hotspot, VPN and P2P data usage by:

  • Launching your Sprint Zone app.
  • Calling *4 from your Sprint phone.
  • Text the word usage to 1311 - you’ll quickly receive a text with usage details.
  • Sign into My Sprint and click See all usage in the Device

How do I add more data for my combined mobile hotspot, VPN and P2P usage?

If you use the 10 GB allowance in your plan, you can add more, 1 GB at a time for $15 each, by:

  • Responding to the text received when all your high-speed data is gone.
  • Going to your Sprint Zone app.
  • Visiting sprint.com/dataoptions online.

Your high-speed data must be used up before you can add more. Unused data does not carry over to the next month.

Why does my bill have additional charges for devices?

Sprint Lease and Installment Billing charges appear separately from the plan charges on your bill. The amount of your payments will vary based on the device you chose.

Is there an activation charge?

Yes, up to a $30/line activation charge applies.

How much data is included in my combined mobile hotspot, VPN and P2P allowance?

When you switch to Sprint's Unlimited Freedom Plan, each line on the plan will receive 10 GB/mo. of high-speed data for their combined mobile hotspot, peer-to-peer (P2P) and virtual private network (VPN) usage. After using the 10 GB, users will have the option to continue using the combined data at up to 2G speeds or purchasing more high-speed data in 1 GB increments for $15/GB to use through the end of the bill cycle.

What is peer-to-peer (P2P) usage?

Usage over a P2P network that’s created when two or more PCs, mobile phones or tablets are connected and share resources without going through a separate server computer. It allows users to access media files such as books, music, movies and games using a P2P software program that searches for other connected computers on a P2P network to locate the desired content.

What is virtual private network (VPN) usage?

VPN data usage transmits over the Internet through an encrypted connection to a private network (usually a company’s network).

What is mobile hotspot (or “tethering”) usage?

Usage that occurs when you connect your wireless phone (or other mobile device that's connected to the internet) as a modem for another device, usually a laptop or a Wi-Fi-only tablet.

Can I add an early upgrade option?

Yes. An early upgrade option is available for $5/mo. when you lease or purchase your device in monthly installments.

I receive a monthly loyalty service credit for being on my current plan. Will I keep it if I change to the Unlimited Freedom Plan?

No, because the Unlimited Freedom Plan is not eligible for the Loyalty Service Credit promotion. If you change plans, your monthly credit will be removed.

My access charges are waived for being on my current family plan with shared data. Will I keep it if I change to the Unlimited Freedom Plan?

Since Unlimited Freedom is not a shared data plan, it doesn’t come with access charges. If you change plans, your promotional credits will no longer be applied. With Unlimited Freedom, there’s no more worrying about running out of data or surprise overage charges. You can enjoy HD Streaming for your videos, gaming and music for up to 10 lines on your account.
