Program your R850 Mobile Hotspot

Steps to activate your R850 Mobile Hotspot

Symptoms:

  • Device is not active

Note: Before you try these steps, check the Sprint coverage map and verify that you are in an area with good coverage.

  • Hands-free activation

    If this is the first time activating your device, hands-free activation automatically runs in the background as you go through the initial sign-in process.

  • Update the data profile

    If this is not the first time activating your device or hands-free activation did not complete successfully, update the data profile.

  • Reset the device

    If the activation methods above did not work, try factory resetting the device.

    • A factory reset will set all of the settings on the device back to the factory defaults, and erase all activation and programming information.
    • After the reset, the hotspot will not function until it has successfully re-activated itself.
    1. With the device powered on, remove the back cover, lifting from the slot on the rear left side of the device.
    2. With the device still powered on, press and hold the Reset key, located at the top right of the device.
    3. Continue holding the Reset key for 5 seconds.
    4. The device will power off and reset.
    5. Once the reset is complete, the device will perform Hands Free Activation.
    6. Once the activation is complete the Wi-Fi hotspot is ready for use.
