Recover contacts on your LG Optimus G

Steps to recover your saved contacts

Note: You can recover your contacts only if you've previously backed them up.
  • Display options

  • Be sure all of your contacts are visible.

    1. From the home screen, tap Apps.
    2. Tap Contacts.
    3. Tap the Menu key.
    4. Tap Settings.
    5. Tap Display options.
    6. Tap All contacts.
    7. You can now see all of your contacts.
  • Google Sync™

  • Google Sync is a free service that synchronizes your LG Optimus G with your Google™ (Gmail™) account. If you've saved your contacts to your Google account, you can restore them to your device.

    1. From the home screen, tap the Menu key.
    2. Tap System settings.
    3. Scroll to and tap Accounts & sync.
    4. Tap ADD ACCOUNT.
    5. Tap Google.
    6. Tap Existing.
    7. Enter your Google account credentials and tap the Next arrow.
    8. Tap OK.
    9. You can also set up a Google+ account.
      • Follow the prompts to Join Google+.
      • To skip this step, tap Not now.
    10. You can also set up a credit card.
      • Follow the prompts and tap Set up credit card.
      • To skip this step, tap Not now.
    11. Tap to check or uncheck preferred sync options.
    12. Tap the Next arrow.
    13. You've now added the Google account.

  • Bluetooth®

  • Some Bluetooth-enabled devices have Bluetooth file transfer capabilities. If you stored your contacts on another Bluetooth-enabled device, you can recover your contacts.

    1. Be sure you have Bluetooth enabled on the other device and ready to pair.
    2. From the LG Optimus G home screen, tap the Menu key.
    3. Tap System settings.
    4. Tap Bluetooth.
    5. Tap the Bluetooth toggle to ON if it isn't already enabled.
    6. Tap Search for devices.
    7. Tap the name of the other device.
    8. If a Bluetooth pairing request displays, verify the passkeys match and tap Pair.
      • If prompted, enter the passkey and tap OK.
      • If you're unsure of the passkey, try entering 0000 or 1234 (the default for most Bluetooth devices).
    9. After you've paired the devices, begin the transfer of contacts from the other device.
    10. After the transfer is complete, open the file on your LG Optimus G and follow the prompts to load your contacts into your contact list.
    11. Note: Sprint recommends you save your contacts to your Google account.
