Recover contacts on your Moto X

Steps to recover your saved contacts

Note: You can recover your contacts only if you've previously backed them up.

  • Display options

    Be sure all of your contacts are visible.

    1. From the home screen, tap the All Apps icon.
    2. Scroll to and tap Contacts.
    3. Tap the Menu icon.
    4. Tap Contacts to display.
    5. Tap All contacts.
    6. You can now see all of your contacts.
  • Google™

    If you've saved your contacts to your Google account, you can restore them to your phone.

      1. From the home screen, tap the All Apps icon.
      2. Scroll to and tap Settings.
      3. Scroll to and tap Accounts.
      4. Tap Add account.
      5. Tap Google.
      6. Enter your email address and tap NEXT.
      7. Enter your password and tap NEXT.
      8. Look over the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy and tap ACCEPT.
      9. You can choose to set up payment information attached to your Google account.
        • Follow the prompts to add your credit card information.
        • If you wish to skip this step, select No thanks and tap CONTINUE.
      10. Tap to check or uncheck Back up data to your Google Account.
      11. Tap the Next arrow.
      12. You've now added the Google account.

    1. Bluetooth®

      Some Bluetooth-enabled devices have Bluetooth file transfer capabilities. If you stored your contacts on another Bluetooth-enabled device, you can recover your contacts.

      1. Be sure you have Bluetooth enabled on the other device and it's ready to be paired.
      2. From the Moto X home screen, tap the All Apps icon.
      3. Scroll to and tap Settings.
      4. Tap Bluetooth.
      5. Tap the Bluetooth slider to ON if it isn't already selected.
      6. Your phone searches for available Bluetooth devices within range. Tap the name of the other phone.
      7. If a Bluetooth pairing request displays, verify the passkeys match and tap Pair.
      8. After you've paired your phones, begin the transfer of contacts from the other device.
      9. After the transfer is complete, open the file on your Moto X and follow the prompts to load your contacts into your contact list.
      10. Note: Sprint recommends you save your contacts to your Google account.

      Pair with a Bluetooth device.
