Troubleshoot charging issues on your Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5

This article helps troubleshoot charging issues on your Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5.

You may have charging issues if your Samsung Galaxy Tab® S 10.5

  • Doesn't charge
  • Charges slowly

Try each of these steps if your device has charging issues.

  1. Verify that your device and charging port are not damaged.

    1. Carefully inspect your device to be sure it's not overheating, swollen or damaged.
    2. Carefully inspect your device's charging port and remove any debris.
  2. Verify that your charger is working.

    Note: You risk severe damage to your device if the charger isn't the same voltage, amps, and plug type as your original charger. You can purchase compatible chargers on and at any Sprint Store.

    1. Connect your device to your charger.
    2. Access Sprint Zone.
    3. Swipe left to access Device Diagnostics.
    4. Tap Battery Status.
    5. Verify that the Battery Status is Charging.
  3. Verify that your Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 is running the most recent software.

    1. Tap the System Updates dashboard.
    2. Tap Device Software.
      • If an update is available, follow the prompts to install.
  4. Safely remove your SD card.

    1. From the home screen, tap the All Apps icon.
    2. Tap Settings.
    3. From the GENERAL tab, scroll to and tap Storage.
    4. Scroll to and tap Unmount SD card.
    5. Tap OK.
    6. Remove the SD card.
  5. Perform a soft reset.

    A soft reset restarts your device and does not erase any of your content or data.

    1. Press and hold both the Power and Volume up keys until the device turns off.
