Troubleshoot issues connecting to Wi-Fi on your Apple iPad mini 4

This article helps you troubleshoot Wi-Fi connectivity on your Apple iPad mini 4

You may have Wi-Fi connectivity issues if your device:

  • Unable to connect to Wi-Fi
  • The device connects to a Wi-Fi network and immediately disconnects

These steps help identify and resolve the underlying cause. After completing each step, test to see if the issue is fixed. If not, continue to the next step.

  1. Verify that Wi-Fi is turned on.

    Wi-Fi must be turned on to connect to a Wi-Fi network.

  2. Verify that the Wi-Fi network password is correct.

    If the wireless network password is incorrect or changes, your iPad can't connect to the Wi-Fi network. Remove and reconnect to the network to make sure the password is correct.

    1. From the home screen, tap Settings.
    2. Tap Wi-Fi.
    3. Tap the wireless network you want to connect to.
    4. Tap Forget this Network.
    5. Tap Forget.
    6. Reconnect to the wireless network.
  3. Perform a soft reset.

    A soft reset deletes any temporary files and can potentially free up internal memory.

    1. Press and hold the Power key and the Home key.
    2. Release the Power key and the Home key when the Apple logo appears.
    3. Your Apple iPad mini 4 will restart.
    4. Test your device to see if the issue is resolved.

Note: To optimize device performance, be sure the device is running the most recent device software. Check for software updates.
