Last Updated: Jul 22, 2016

This article helps troubleshoot displaying no/low signal from the cellular network on your Franklin U772 USB Modem

You may have no/low signal issues if your device:

  • Displays no signal
  • Displays low signal

These steps help identify and resolve the underlying cause. After completing each step, test to see if the issue is fixed. If you have uncovered an issue that you can't fix, make an appointment at a convenient Sprint Repair center or contact Sprint Customer Care for more help.

  1. Verify if coverage is available at your current location.

If your Franklin U772 USB Modem has low signal strength, see if your location is within Sprint voice coverage on the Sprint coverage map.

  2. Verify airplane mode is turned off.

    1. In your Internet browser, type http://sprintmodem or http://192.168.10.1 in the address bar.
    2. Press Enter.
    3. Enter the Administrator password in the Password field and click OK.

Note: The default password is admin.

    4. Click Settings.
    5. Click Connection Options.
    6. If needed, uncheck Enable Airplane Mode and click Save.
  3. Reset the network settings.

Resetting the network settings reconnects your device to the Sprint network and does not erase any of your content or data.

    1. In your Internet browser, type http://sprintmodem or http://192.168.10.1 in the address bar.
    2. Press Enter.
    3. Enter the Administrator password in the Password field and click OK.

Note: The default password is admin.

    4. Click Settings.
    5. Click Advanced Settings.
    6. Click Equipment.
    7. Enter the MSL, then click OK.
    8. The device will restart and the activation will begin.
  4. Do you know if other Sprint customers are experiencing the same issue in the same location?

Note: To optimize device performance, be sure your Franklin U772 USB Modem is running the most recent device software. Check for software updates.
