Troubleshoot issues related to mobile hotspots and your HTC One A9

Last Updated: Aug 03, 2016

This article helps troubleshoot mobile hotspot issues on your HTC One A9

You may have mobile hotspot issues if you:

  • See Error 67 on your HTC One® A9
  • Can't connect another device to your HTC One A9 mobile hotspot
  • Connect to the mobile hotspot but can't browse

These steps help identify and resolve the underlying cause. After completing each step, test to see if the issue is fixed. If not, continue to the next step.

  1. Verify you've enabled and set up mobile hotspot on your HTC One A9.

    Turn Wi-Fi hotspot on.

    Set up Wi-Fi hotspot.

  2. Verify mobile data is enabled.

    1. From the home screen, tap the All Apps icon.
    2. Scroll to and tap Settings.
    3. Tap the Mobile data switch to ON.
  3. Update your Sprint data profile.

The data profile contains settings your phone needs to connect to the Sprint network.

    1. Access Sprint Zone.
    2. Scroll to and tap Support.
    3. Tap Diagnostics.
    4. Tap Update profile.
    5. After the profile update is complete, tap OK.
  4. Verify your subscription has an active mobile hotspot add-on.

On sprint.com, log in to My Sprint to verify the add-on is active on the subscription.

Without the hotspot add-on, you can't share your HTC One A9 mobile hotspot with other devices.

  5. Perform a soft reset.

A soft reset reconnects your HTC One A9 to the Sprint network.

    1. Hold the Power and Volume Up keys for ten seconds.
    2. Your phone will restart.

Note: To optimize device performance, be sure your HTC One A9 is running the most recent device software. Check for software updates.
