Troubleshoot issues related to mobile hotspots and your Samsung Galaxy S7 edge

Last Updated: Nov 09, 2016

This article helps troubleshoot mobile hotspot issues on your Samsung Galaxy S7 edge

You may have mobile hotspot issues if you:

  • See Error 67 on your Samsung Galaxy S7 edge
  • Can't connect another device to your Samsung Galaxy S7 edge mobile hotspot
  • Connect to the mobile hotspot but can't browse

These steps help identify and resolve the underlying cause. After completing each step, test to see if the issue is fixed. If not, continue to the next step.

  1. Verify you've enabled and set up mobile hotspot on your Samsung Galaxy S7 edge.

    Turn Wi-Fi hotspot on.

    Set up Wi-Fi hotspot.

  2. Verify mobile data is enabled.

    1. From the home screen, tap Apps.
    2. Scroll to and tap Settings.
    3. Scroll to and tap Data usage.
    4. Ensure that the Mobile data switch is enabled.
  3. Update your Sprint data profile.

The data profile contains settings your phone needs to connect to the Sprint network.

    1. From the home screen, tap Apps.
    2. Scroll to and tap Settings.
    3. Scroll to and tap System updates.
    4. Tap Update profile.
    5. After the profile update is complete, tap OK.
  4. Verify your subscription has an active mobile hotspot add-on.

On sprint.com, log in to My Sprint to verify the add-on is active on the subscription.

Without the hotspot add-on, you can't share your Samsung Galaxy S7 edge mobile hotspot with other devices.

  5. Perform a soft reset.

A soft reset reconnects your Samsung Galaxy S7 edge to the Sprint network.

    1. Press and hold the Power and Volume down keys at the same time.
    2. Release both keys as soon as the device restarts.

Note: To optimize device performance, be sure your Samsung Galaxy S7 edge is running the most recent device software. Check for software updates.
