Troubleshoot issues related to unable to access voicemail on your Samsung Galaxy Note7

This article helps troubleshoot unable to access voicemail on your Samsung Galaxy Note7.

You may have voicemail access issues if your phone:

  • Is unable to access voicemail
  • Has difficulty accessing voicemail

These steps help identify and resolve the underlying cause. After completing each step, test to see if the issue is fixed. If you have uncovered an issue that you can't fix, make an appointment at a convenient Sprint Repair center or contact Sprint Customer Care for more help.

  1. Verify airplane mode is turned off on the Samsung Galaxy Note7.

    1. From the home screen, tap Apps.
    2. Tap Settings.
    3. Tap Connections.
    4. If needed, tap the switch to disable Airplane mode.
  2. Verify if coverage is available at your current location.

    If your Samsung Galaxy Note7 has low signal strength, see if your location is within Sprint network coverage on the Sprint coverage map.

  3. Perform a soft reset.

    1. Press and hold the Power and Volume Down keys for 6 seconds.
    2. The phone will power off and restart.

      Note: If the ringtone volume changes when soft resetting the device, press the Volume up key to reach the volume after the device restarts.

  4. Update the PRL

    Keeping your Preferred Roaming List (PRL) up-to-date can improve your network coverage.

  5. Update the data profile

    If this is not the first time activating your phone or hands-free activation did not complete successfully, update the data profile.

  6. Remove and Add back the Voicemail number

    1. From the home screen, tap Phone.
    2. Tap the Menu icon.
    3. Tap Settings.
    4. Scroll to and tap Voicemail settings.
    5. Tap Voicemail number.
    6. Delete the number present, then re-enter the voicemail number.
    7. Tap OK.
