Troubleshoot shortened battery life on your ALCATEL ONETOUCH PIXI 7

Last Updated: Aug 03, 2016

This article helps you troubleshoot battery life issues on your ALCATEL ONETOUCH PIXI 7

You may have battery issues if:

  • Your ALCATEL ONETOUCH PIXI™ 7 consistently displays a low charge
  • The battery drains quickly

Try each of these steps to see if it helps your charge last longer.

  1. Change the power settings.

You can improve battery life by adjusting the power settings on your device.

  2. Close background applications.

Some apps continue to run in the background after you exit them. Sprint recommends that you close background applications when you're not using them.

  3. Verify that your ALCATEL ONETOUCH PIXI 7 is running the most recent software.

There may be a software update that improves battery life on your device. Check for software updates.

  4. Safely remove your SD card.

    1. From the home screen, tap the All Apps icon.
    2. Tap Settings.
    3. Scroll to and tap Storage.
    4. Scroll to and tap Unmount SD card.
    5. Tap OK.
    6. Remove the SD card.
  5. Perform a soft reset.

A soft reset restarts your device and does not erase any of your content or data.

    1. Press and hold the Power key for 15 seconds.
    2. The device will power off and restart.
  6. Verify that your charger is working.

Note: You risk severe damage to your device if the charger isn't the same voltage, amps, and plug type as your original charger. You can purchase compatible chargers on sprint.com and at any Sprint Store.

    1. Connect your device to your charger and see if the charging icon displays.

If you still have a battery issue, try the Sprint Community pages.
