This article helps you troubleshoot battery life issues on your LG G Stylo

You may have battery issues if:

  • Your LG G Stylo™ consistently displays a low charge
  • The battery drains quickly

Try each of these steps to see if it helps your charge last longer.

  1. In Sprint Zone browse Power Usage and learn how your current power settings effect battery life.

    1. Access Sprint Zone.
    2. Swipe to the left to open Device Diagnostics.
    3. Tap Power Usage.
      • Overview: Displays your current power usage level and power mode.
      • Power Usage Details: Shows your power usage over time and which features use your battery the most.
        • Battery Usage: Shows battery history and the power usage of each app.
        • Current Power Settings: Shows settings that can effect battery life. Tap an item to change the setting.
        • Select Power Mode: Helps change settings to extend battery life.
      • Learn More: Provides more information on battery life.
  2. Change the power settings to Low Power.

    1. From within Sprint Zone, swipe to the left to open Device Diagnostics.
    2. Tap Power Usage.
    3. Tap Select Power Mode.
    4. Tap Apply.
    5. Note: If Apply is not available, tap Continue, tap Settings, tap the Location switch off, then tap the Back key to return to Sprint Zone.

  3. Close or uninstall applications to improve battery life.

    • Most apps continue running in the background when you are not using them, which in certain cases can consume extra resources and slow the phone.
    • Some apps come pre-loaded on your phone and you can't uninstall them.
    1. From the home screen, tap the All Apps icon.
    2. Swipe to and tap Settings.
    3. In the General tab, scroll to and tap Apps.
    4. Tap an application.
      • Close (turn off) an application: Tap Force stop.
      • Uninstall (remove from phone) an application: Tap Uninstall, and then OK.
  4. Verify that your LG G Stylo is running the most recent software.

    1. From within Sprint Zone, swipe to the left to open Device Diagnostics.
    2. Scroll to and tap System Updates.
    3. Tap Device Software.
    4. Tap CHECK FOR UPDATE.
      • If an update is available, follow the prompts to install.
  5. Safely remove your SD card.

    1. From the home screen, tap the All Apps icon.
    2. Swipe to and tap Settings.
    3. In the General tab, scroll to and tap Storage & USB.
    4. Tap the Eject icon beside the SD card name.
    5. Remove the SD card.
  6. Perform a soft reset.

A soft reset restarts your phone and does not erase any of your content or data.

    1. Remove the battery. After 10 seconds, reinsert the battery.
    2. Turn your phone back on.
  7. Verify that your charger is working.

Note: You risk severe damage to your phone if the charger isn't the same voltage, amps, and plug type as your original charger. You can purchase compatible chargers on sprint.com and at any Sprint Store.

    1. Connect your phone to your charger.
    2. From within Sprint Zone, swipe to the left to open Device Diagnostics.
    3. Tap Battery Usage.
