Troubleshoot when your ALCATEL Cinch slows, freezes, or turns off unexpectedly

Last Updated: Oct 21, 2016

This article helps troubleshoot your ALCATEL Cinch slowing, freezing, or turning off unexpectedly

You may have performance issues if your ALCATEL Cinch:

  • Performs slowly
  • Freezes
  • Turns off or unexpectedly restarts
  • Displays error messages

Try each of these steps to see if it helps improve your phone's performance.

  1. Perform a soft reset.

A soft reset restarts your phone and does not erase any of your content or data.

    1. Remove the back cover of the phone, then remove the battery.
    2. After 10 seconds, reinsert the battery and replace the back cover.
    3. Press and hold the Power key to power the phone on.
  2. Determine if your phone has low memory.

    1. From the home screen, press MENU.
    2. Scroll to Settings and press the OK key.
    3. Scroll to Phone Information and press the OK key.
    4. Scroll to Memory and press the OK key.
    5. The available memory is displayed.
    6. If your phone has low memory, troubleshoot low memory issues.
  3. Verify that your ALCATEL Cinch is running the most recent software.

There may be a software update that improves battery life on your phone. Check for software updates.
